Note that this is the top view, with the floppy drives at the bottom. (They are mounted in the top half, not shown.) The AC cord plugs in to the top right, near the corner. The upper left side is the machine's memory section, which is normally covered by the removable piece. Below the memory, on the bottom left, are the blue "add-on" card jacks. In the center, on a raised second board, is the video controller - complete with it's own memory section. Under this board is the "main" board, which has the Z-80 CPU and other support chips. Along the right side is the switching power supply. You can see the reset button at the bottom right of the picture, just to the left of the power supply. Now, to the right (center) of the video board is the battery we need to change. The battery in this unit has already been changed. Note: The original battery is longer and thinner and yellow in color. We have found a couple of replacement batteries that should work fine. Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh batteries are similar, and either will work. The voltage should be 3.6 Volts.
