The QX-10 Computer Manual

DX Computer Company was formed when "Rising Star Industries" went out of business in order to support the users of one of the finest 8-bit machines ever manufactured. The fact that there are hundreds - perhaps thousands - still in use beyond the year 2000 is testimony to how well designed the system was. Over the years, we have had many inquiries about repairing these machines. The most common problem has been replacement of the battery, missing or broken CRT Cables, the left floppy failing (most often because of dirt.) and the keyboard failing (just from shear use!). We will attempt to document how to repair all of the above, as well as including a complete re-print of the whole technical manual. We might even include software, and maybe even the source code for some of the more crucial parts of the system. I am doing this for love, not money. However, any support towards maintaining this site would be appreciated. You could also contribute any pictures or stories about the QX10 (and/or the QX16) series of computers that you would like to share.

Enjoy!

Note: We may eventually have the complete QX-10 Hardware Manual presented here. For now, we are presenting the most asked for information.

The following refers to the CRT Cable. The cable contains one shielded wire, and
five additional wires. The colors referred to here are the ones used in the cable
supplied by Epson. Your colors may be different, as long as the correct pins are used.
